Comfort Nest In-Home & Memory Care provides non-medical personal care and companionship services designed to support safety, dignity, and independence in the comfort of home. With an RN owner and MAC-delegation capabilities, we offer a higher standard of oversight than traditional caregiver-only agencies.

Below is a detailed list of services currently offered.

• Bathing, grooming, and hygiene assistance
   
• Dressing and undressing
   
• Toileting assistance and incontinence care
   
• Safe transfers and mobility support
   
• Assistance with feeding and proper meal setup
   
• Support with activities of daily living (ADLs)
   

• Social interaction and emotional support
   
• Conversation, engagement, and companionship
   
• Recreational activities and cognitive stimulation
   
• Monitoring for safety, confusion, wandering risks, or changes in behavior
   
• Behavioral redirection and reassurance strategies for dementia-related agitation or disorientation
   

While we operate as a non-medical agency, Comfort Nest provides a higher standard of medication support under RN oversight.

This includes:

• Medication reminders
   
• RN-performed medication assessments and organization
   
• MAC-delegated staff for medication assistance (as permitted under Alabama regulations)
   
• Monitoring for side effects, adherence concerns, or changes to overall condition
   
• Communication with family if concerns arise
   

This level of support is a key difference between Comfort Nest and standard companion-only agencies.

• Light housekeeping
   
• Laundry and linen changes
   
• Meal preparation and cleanup
   
• Home organization for safety and accessibility
   
• Assistance with maintaining a clean and safe living environment
   

We assist clients with essential daily needs that support independence and safety, including:

• Grocery shopping
   
• Pharmacy pick-ups
   
• Mail retrieval or package management
   
• Essential household errands discussed during intake
   

Transportation support is offered based on safety, mobility level, and vehicle accessibility. Each request is reviewed individually to ensure the client can be safely transported in a standard vehicle.

Transportation may include:

• Doctor appointments
   
• Outpatient follow-ups
   
• Essential local trips discussed during care planning
   
• Accompaniment inside the appointment if needed (with family permission)
   

If a client requires specialized mobility equipment or cannot be safely transported in a standard car, alternative transportation recommendations will be provided.

Comfort Nest specializes in dementia-related care needs, including:

• Monitoring for sundowning
   
• Calm, consistent dementia-friendly communication
   
• Redirection during confusion or agitation
   
• Routine-building to reduce behavioral challenges
   
• Support for clients with cognitive decline, memory loss, or behavioral health needs
   

Our RN owner’s background in ICU, step-down, behavioral health, home health, and group home settings ensures a compassionate and experienced approach to clients with complex behavioral or cognitive needs.
